The Garden Project

With lots of help from students, parents and members of the West Row community, our garden area underwent a complete transformation on the 23rd and 24th of October.

A lovely letter from a member of the USAF community:

Good afternoon all concerned,

I just wanted to make a positive report back about my experience volunteering with the community over at West Row Academy. Miss Back and all of the staff and parents were lovely to work with, prompted me to take breaks, offered tea/coffee and snacks, ordered pizza, and I very much enjoyed the moments we took for conversation amongst our landscaping project on Saturday. I enjoyed my time so much that I stayed four hours later than expected just continuing to help out with the effort. I did not make it back over there to finish the job on Sunday, but one of the teachers, Mrs. Frary, sent me a picture of the finished garden space, so it was nice seeing that.

Long story short, I believe this was a great volunteering experience that also enabled me to feel better connected with the local community. Please do not hesitate to push out more things like this in the future!
