Pastoral Support

 

Pastoral Support:

West Row Academy has a strong pastoral support team who work with the community of West Row to ensure they are supported in anyway they feel they need. West Row is underpinned by the Thrive Principles (see below for more information) but also has a Family Support Practitioner, School Counsellor, SENDCO and Thrive Practitioner on hand.

The team is made up of:

Thrive:

Thrive is a programme that identifies aspects of social and emotional development that pupils could need support with. It is an approach of which uses an assessment of pupils to highlight area of need that in turn formulates a plan of support for either an individual or group of pupils. Below is a link to a document outlining this in more detail.

Family Support Practitioner:

Our family support practitioner is on hand at the beginning and end of day to communicate with parents and pupils. The main aspect of this role is to offer support and guidance for the common ups and downs of life. This may include:

  • Support with parenting
  • Referrals to the school nursing team
  • Supporting pupils through nurture groups
  • Supporting with attendance
  • Mental health support
  • and much much more!
